MLB Food Fest 2019
On September 22nd I attended the MLB Food Fest! This event gives fans the chance to get a taste of the most popular items from all 30 MLB ballparks, and while that might sound daunting to tackle in one day they give you the perfect portions to make sure you have room to try everything!
I used to work in the suites at Citi Field where I always got the scoop of new food additions to the stadiums, and over time I realized that baseball stadium food has taken a huge leap from your average hot dogs and cracker jack to elaborate tacos, sandwiches and desserts! This was seriously the best opportunity see how creative some of these ballparks can get when it comes to their food.
Not only did they have food, but they also had coolest interactive and instagrammable activations. This includes life sized cotton candy, a life sized pretzel, a giant hot dog seesaw, a ketchup and french fry ball pit, and a VR home run derby game! Truly a food Instagrammer’s happy place.
Moving on to the food, below is some of the food I tried and what ballpark they came from!
A fan favorite was definitely the Churro Dog, (they even sold T-Shirts of them!) but my favorites were the Pulled Pork Pierogi Hoagie, Elote Nuggets, and Smoked Pork Belly Bao Buns. All of the nacho options were delicious!
I am definitely getting tickets for next year, but make sure to get your hands on them as soon as possible next year because they sell out super quickly! When you purchase your ticket you choose a day and 3 hour time slot that way it’s not super crowded.
