THE BEST OF 2019
Looking back on 2019, I’ve had the chance to try so much glamorous grub!!
In no particular order… here are my top 10 favorite foods of 2019 and the most glamorous grub of the year!
The Blue Chicken Buffalo Chicken Cone
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again- this is definitely the best buffalo chicken I’ve ever had. It has just the right amount of kick to it balanced with a ranch drizzle. While this is only sold during the outdoor Smorgasburg market for now, everything The Blue Chicken sells in the indoor market is just as great. Try their mac and cheese, bbq pulled chicken sandwich and s’mores hot chocolate!
Trestle Truffle Fries
I’m a huge fan of truffle fries and Trestle makes the best! They aren’t too over powering and it was impossible to put my fork down the first time I tried them. Besides the truffle fries, you should definitely try the chicken pot pie, loaded poppers, mac and cheese, french onion soup and warm chocolate chip cookie!
Pasta Lovers Mozzarella Triangles
These are far from your average mozzarella sticks. 1. They’re in the shape of a triangle. 2. They taste AMAZING. If you visit Pasta Lovers you have to try these triangles that have taken over Instagram. You’re sure to get a perfect cheese pull every time!
Gnoccheria by Luzzo’s Signature Dish for Two
This dish comes with pesto genovese, quattro formaggi, and serentina. (In other words, a pesto sauce, 4 cheese sauce, and tomato sauce) At $28, this is the perfect price and portion to share with someone. This is HANDS DOWN my favorite gnocchi, each sauce is so good that I can’t even pick one!
Burgerology’s Edison Burger
While the Mac Attack has always been my go-to at Burgerology and has a special place in my heart, I gave The Edison a try this year and it blew my mind. I love a good sunny side up egg on a burger, but The Edison takes it to the next level with their BACON JAM. I would put that jam on everything. This is the best place for an affordable, filling and fun date night, dinner with family or a party with a large group. Definitely one of my favorite spots of the year!
Mister Dips PBD
Mister Dip’s P.B.D is made with a dark cocoa salted peanut butter drip with a Reese’s pieces attached to the side. If you’re not in the shade eating this on a hot summer day it’s sure to get messy, but it’s 100% worth it. This hidden gem in Williamsburg is the cutest place to stop by with family, friends or your significant other. You should also definitely try their buffalo chicken and loaded fries. Everything out of this little air stream is SO GOOD.
Artichoke Pizza’s Artichoke Slice
This year I FINALLY got to try Artichoke Pizza’s Artichoke slice and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I now have a newfound love for artichoke and think about this slice more often that I should!
Bliss Dairy Bar & Grill’s Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese
I’m a huge fan of buffalo, and this buffalo chicken mac and cheese is out of this world. It’s super creamy with the perfect amount of chicken made pan style with garlic crumbs. While Bliss is well known for their mac and cheese, they’re also famous for their boss wrap made with chicken cutlet, penne vodka, mozzarella.
Duchess Cookies’ Cookie Monster
This year was all about Duchess Cookies for me! One of their signature and most instagrammable flavors is the Cookie Monster which is a chocolate chip cookie dressed up in a bright blue sugar cookie. Once you break this open your jaw with drop at the sweet smell, gooeyness and flavor. EVERY cookie they make is so good and these are perfect to bring to a party, you can easily get them delivered too!
Mo Gelato’s Gelato Panino
I stumbled upon Mo Gelato when walking through Little Italy and their Gelato Panino has been on my list for years. Its a warm bun with any flavor of gelato you want in the middle. I chose Nutella and the combo of the cold gelato + warm bun can’t be beat. Next time I want to try raspberry in the middle!
FINALLY…. THE MOST GLAMOROUS GRUB OF 2019 IS….
BONA BONA S’MORES LAVA CAKE
Bona Bona’s S’mores Lava Cake is unlike any dessert I’ve ever seen before. It’s a lava cake completely covered in toasted marshmallow, covered in sprinkles ad served with a scoop of graham cracker ice cream. I LOVE LAVA CAKE, and Bona Bona takes it to the next level. You can find this in the winter market at Smorgasburg.
Thank you everyone for all of your constant support throughout 2019! This time last year I was aiming to reach just 1,000 followers in the new year and now I’ve surpassed that goal reaching 3.3k thanks to all of you. I can’t wait to see what glamorous grub 2020 has in store for me to try!
